Batshuayi scored either side of the break as Chelsea strolled to victory, his second goal was quite simply outstanding as he fired the ball into the top corner from 20 yards with his left foot.
Speaking post-game, Conte underlined what he wants from a striker and heaped praise on the 23-year-old.
"It’s important to understand what I want," said the Italian.
"For me, a striker is very important, he is a point of reference and when a striker stays in the right position, it’s easier for the team to play good football. "
"He did well here and is working very well, improving."
"My staff and I want to improve every player and Michy is a young player with great potential. Last season was difficult for Michy, but he scored a very important goal for us which gave us the title at West Brom."
"I think last season was a little bit difficult because it’s not easy to play in the Premier League. It’s a physical and very strong league."
Theformer Marseilla man endured a disappointing season last time out but if today was anything to go by, there is a lot more to come yet.
Batshuayi will be no doubt keen to keep impressing following the arrival of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
