Fabio Cannavaro, Pavel Nedved, Luis Figo, Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta... the list goes on. The 35-year-old has played alongside some of the biggest names in world football in a professional career spanning almost two decades.
However, in an interview for SportBible, Ibrahimovic responded rather surprisingly when asked to name the greatest footballer he had played with.
'I played with players that I saw was a talent. But the one I felt could do it longer was, and he didn’t do it, was Adriano', the Swedish striker said.
Adriano and Ibrahomovic played together at Inter Milan when the Brazilian striker was at his peak, considered one of the world's greatest striking prospects at the time.
'When I came to Inter, the first thing I said to the president was that I demand to play with him because he is the player I want to play with', Ibrahimovic continued.
'He was an animal. He could shoot from every angle. Nobody could take the ball, he was a pure animal'. The pair spent two seasons together at San Siro before the Brazilian's career collapsed.
Adriano scored 29 goals in 50 appearances for his national team but, following the death of his father, he struggled to cope and turned to drugs and alcohol. His promising career took a tragic nosedive, but he certainly left his mark on Ibrahimovic.
