Sergio Aguero overruns the ball and catches David Luiz with a wild, high lunge. The challenge sparks a brawl between the two sides in which Fernandinho grabs Fabregas by the neck and receives a red card for violent conduct.

The Brazilian fires in a low, hard shot, but Claudio Bravo gets down well to beat it away.
Hazard seals it for Chelsea
With City pushing for an equaliser, Chelsea once again hit on the break. This time, Alonso plays a pinpoint pass for Hazard who finds himself in acres of space and fires past Bravo.

Courtois denies Aguero
Aguero finds himself in a good position in the area and unleashes a powerful shot, but Courtois is equal to it and beats it away.
Diego Costa levels for Chelsea
City are punished for not taking their chances by the ever-clinical Diego Costa. Fabregas clips a great ball over the top for the striker who takes it on his chest, cuts inside and smashes a low shot past Bravo.

De Bruyne misses a sitter
A great move by City ends up with Navas playing the perfect ball for De Bruyne at the back post. The goal is gaping for the Belgian from inside six yards, but somehow hits the crossbar.
Cahill makes vital block
There's a mix-up in the Chelsea defence as Alonso underhits a backpass. Cahill leaves it for Courtois, who is slow to react and gives it straight to Aguero. The City striker shoots but Cahill, just a few yards off the line, stops Aguero doubling the scoring.
Chelsea make a change
Conte decides to introduce Willian who comes on in place of Pedro.
Costa fires wide
Diego Costa has a go from just outside the area, but his effort goes comfortably wide of Bravo's near post.
Courtois prevents City scoring a second
Sane goes on a great run and plays De Bruyne through on goal, but his effort is saved well by his fellow countryman, Courtois.

City deservedly lead at the break thanks to Cahill's own goal just before half-time, but Guardiola's side will be disappointed with the refereeing performance from Anthony Taylor who turned down an early penalty appeal and failed to punish David Luiz for blocking Aguero's run through on goal.
Cahill puts it into his own net
Jesus Navas swings in a cross from the right and Gary Cahill throws a leg at it. Unfortunately for him, it ricochets off his shin and flies past Courtois.

Aguero can't convert a good chance
The ball falls to the striker in close range, but his half-volley is well blocked by Azpilicueta.
Luiz blocks Aguero's run, but no free-kick given
Aguero runs onto a poor backpass and would have been through on goal and is blocked by David Luiz, but Anthony Taylor waves away City's appeal for a free-kick and possibly red card.
Hazard rounds Bravo... but wastes a good chance
Straight after City had the ball in the back of Chelsea's net, Chelsea go down the other end and Hazard rounds Bravo. The angle is tight and Stones is on the line, so he decides to square it to Costa, but the pass is cut out by Otamendi.
City have goal disallowed
Fernandinho heads in from a De Bruyne free-kick from the right but is ruled offside. Replays show that the assistant referee made the correct decision.
Aguero tests Courtois
The Argentine unleashes a long-range shot with his left foot, but Courtois tips it over the bar.
Yellow card for Otamendi
The Man City defender can count himself unlucky as he cleanly wins the ball from Diego Costa, but referee Anthony Taylor deems it as a lunge and gives him a yellow card.
Hazard comes close
City fail to deal with a high ball and Stones heads straight to Pedro. The Spaniard lays it off to Hazard and he curls a low effort just wide of Bravo's left-hand post.
City have penalty appeal turned down
Gary Cahill handles the ball with a trailing hand after he is cut up by David Silva, but the referee gives a corner.
Hazard receives treatment
The Belgian is clipped on the ankle by Fernandinho and looks in some pain. He should be able to continue, however.

Pep Guardiola appears to have gone for three at the back, in what is a minor tactical surprise. Stones, Otamendi and Kolarov will be charged with keeping Chelsea's lethal front three of Pedro, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard. Chelsea keep the same line-up that has seen them win seven games in a row.
