Sanches struggled to impress at the Allianz Arena last season after a big money move and drew the ire of fans after being caught on video posing with a wad of cash.
The classy midfielder made just 6 starts in the Bundesliga last season and whilst he may have been optimistic of more game time next season after Xabi Alonso's retirement, those hopes will have been dashed by the big-money arrival of French midfielder Corentin Tolisso.
United boss Jose Mourinho is still looking for fresh faces this summer, with Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku the only new players through the door at Old Trafford so far.
Sanches is considered in many circles to be the most talented young midfielder in the world, but Bayern CEO Karl Heinz-Rummenigge has admitted that the Portuguese is available to interested parties for £43m, a similar fee to that being banded about for reported United target Nemanja Matic.
Rummenigge doesn't feel that AC Milan can afford such a deal, meaning that the path could be left open for United to swoop. "If a club are interested in a Bayern player, they must be ready to deal with significant economic figures and I don't feel that Milan are ready to meet our demands. We'll say that it wouldn't be bad if a £43m offer came in for him…" explained the German.
Midfield is somewhere the 'Red Devils' are looking to strengthen this summer, though they had been looking for a more robust midfielder in the Matic or Bakayoko mould, they may see the chance to sign Sanches as too good to turn down.
