The details of Barcelona's Coutinho bid that have angered Liverpool

The Reds rejected a third bid for Coutinho, telling Barcelona not to come back. According to the Mirror, this is partly due to five clauses inserted in the offer for the 25-year-old.

While the headline fee stands at around £118 million, this sum is only reached once a string of improbable targets are reached. The actual fee is a guaranteed £80 million which has been laughed off by Liverpool and has contributed to stifle the relationship between both clubs.

The 'impossible' bonus payments would include winning multiple trophies in one season as well as the Ballon d'Or, and even winning the Champions League several times with the Catalan outfit.

A total of five add-ons which would amount to just under £40 million which Barcelona would only have to pay if Coutinho became the world's best player and brought lots of silverware to the Camp Nou. 

The payment would likely remain at the basic £80 million Barcelona hoped to stagger over five years. Liverpool were left fuming by the audacious proposition, knowing full well that Valverde's team have just pocketed £198 million for Neymar.
