Speaking to the press Toure said that everyone at City was under pressure and that players need to be sharper in front of goal this season or risk being 'removed very quickly'.
Toure was asked whether City boss Pep Guardiola would face increased scrutiny this season after a disappointing first campaign in England and the 33-year-old replied by saying: "It's the same for the players as well."
"If we don't, then we'll be removed very quickly. City is now a club that has to win something every year. I don't want to say how many trophies we have to win, but it's important to say we have to win something."
Nevertheless, the veteran midfielder was confident that he knew where the team had to improve this season.
"I think we're a team that creates more chances than the rest, but our finishing was not so strong last season," he explained.
"We need to start the season quickly. If we have the chances, we have to score. We have to show that killer instinct and be more clinical."
The 33-year-old knows what it takes to impress Guardiola after forcing his way back into the Spaniard's plans last season and earning a new contract.
Following last season's disappointment and the big-money spent again this summer Guardiola and his players will be under more pressure than ever as they look to mount a serious title challenge this season.
