Eden Hazard echoed many peoples' sentiments when speaking about Chelsea's performance against Man City, saying that his side could have played for three hours and he still wouldn't have got a touch.
Although the result of the game was a blow for Chelsea, leaving them five points adrift of the top four, it was the way in which they performed that was the focus of people's criticism on Sunday. The visitors didn't register a single shot on target, and only had possession for 29% of the game.
Pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Redknapp called the performance 'woeful' and a 'a crime against football' in their coverage of the game on 'Sky Sports' and, although he didn't go that far, Hazard was of a similar opinion.
"When you leave the pitch you have the impression that you've ran, but that you haven't played a game of football," the Belgian said, speaking after the game. "We could have played on for 3 hours, and I wouldn't touch a ball. Only at the end it went better: in the last 10-15 minutes we had more possession. But we should have tried to do that all game."
Manager Antonio Conte played Hazard as a false nine, and didn't start a striker, and the forward insinuated that he didn't agree with these tactics. "When the manager plays me up front, I try to give everything,' he said. 'But, for me personally, it's difficult to play a good game when you only touch the ball three times."
"We have also wasted some simple passes. We haven't played a good game." He ended by calling on his side to improve in their upcoming clash against Barcelona in the Champions League. "We are going to work hard to perform better next week," he concluded.
