The final takes place at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday, and Rakitic called on his side to focus. "We have to travel to Madrid and play the best game possible," he said. "We want to carry on making history, and we have to think about winning the final."
"I want to carry on adding trophies to the cabinet. We have to leave our status as favourites to the side."
He was then questioned on Andres Iniesta's future at the club, after more rumours have surfaced recently that the Spaniard may leave Barcelona at the end of the season. "I haven't heard Iniesta say he's leaving," Rakitic responded. "You have to respect his decision."
The Croatian international went on to insist that his side were just focussed on winning the game itself. "We're not thinking about the double," he said, in reference to the fact that Barcelona could win two trophies this season. "We will see what happens. Finishing the season with two trophies would be a very big success."
Barcelona's opponents in the final, Sevilla, are very familiar to Rakitic, given that he spent four seasons there prior to his move to Barcelona. The midfielder still feels a connection to the team. "I feel Sevillan and I'm a fan of Sevilla," he said. "If I wasn't against them I would want them to win the Copa del Rey. But now the most important thing for me is Barca."
