Roberto had 18 months remaining on his current contract and has been linked with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. The new deal includes a release clause of €500million.
Roberto is a 'La Masia' graduate and has been at Barcelona for his entire footballing career.
"I have always wanted to be here, I have been a Barca fan since I was little," Roberto said. "I have been at Barca for 12 years and my objective is to stay as long as possible."
The Catalan made his debut for the 'Blaugrana' in 2010 and since then has won four La Liga titles, two Champions league and four Copa del Rey trophies.
