The two superstars who dominate the football world have let their numbers do the talking so far this season, despite the supposed slow start from the Portuguese star and Messi flying out the traps.
Just a few weeks away from the start of 2018, Messi and Ronaldo have managed 18 and 15 goals respectively so far this season, although they are distributed in very different ways. What's striking is that they both need less than 110 minutes to find the back of the net.
Both players boast a rate of just under one goal every 100 minutes. 108.5 minutes for the Argentinian and 109.1 for the Portuguese striker.
Ronaldo has scored four in La Liga, 9 in the Champions League, one in the Spanish Super Cup and one in the Club World Cup; Messi, 14 in La Liga, almost as many as Ronaldo's total, three in the Champions League and one more in the Spanish Super Cup.
The duo, who have 10 Ballon d'Or trophies between them, have shown their goalscoring prowess in different competitions. Messi started the league campaign on fire, a competition in which his greatest rival has seemed to struggle this year.
However, Ronaldo is on track to break all sorts of records in the Champions League, especially after he was able to score in every match during the group stages.
